Inspired by new ways to bring physicality to real-time graphics, Particle is a tabletop experience controlled by motion-tracked spheres. Interacting with the spheres, users are able to control parameters of a living animation. Tracking is done with a Kinect, while the particle systems are rendered in Unity. Data communication and video mapping is done via Touchdesigner, with the spheres’ LEDs controlled by an Arduino. Made in collaboration with Alvaro Lacouture and exhibited at ITP’s Winter Show 2019.
